See the 2026 Oscar Winners for Hair, Makeup, Costume, and Production Design
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences unveiled its 2026 winners for excellence in Costume Design, Production Design, and Makeup and Hairstyling on March 15.
2025 was a standout year for auteur filmmaking, and the 2026 Oscars honored the best of them. Ryan Coogler's original "Sinners" took home the most awards of the night, followed by the Paul Thomas Anderson-directed “One Battle After Another." “Hamnet,” Chloé Zhao’s meditation on grief, made an Oscar-winner out of leading lady Jessie Buckley, while “Sentimental Value” became a worthy winner of the international film category. The Set Set turns its focus to the creative forces behind 2025’s most memorable on-screen sets, wardrobes, and looks.

The Academy Award for Best Costume Design was a close race between winner Kate Hawley of “Frankenstein" and nominees Deborah L. Scott of “Avatar: Fire and Ash,” Malgosia Turzanska of “Hamnet,” Miyako Bellizzi of “Marty Supreme,” and Ruth E. Carter of “Sinners.” For makeup and hairstyling, Mike Hill, Jordan Samuel, and Cliona Furey of “Frankenstein” won in a stacked category alongside the "Sinners" team, Ken Diaz, Mike Fontaine, and Shunika Terry, Kazu Hiro, Glen Griffen, and Bojoern Rehbein of “The Smashing Machine," as well as other artists for Japanese historical drama, “Kokuho,” and Norwegian body horror film “The Ugly Stepsister." As for production design, drawing directly from the Best Picture nominees we had “Frankenstein,” “Hamnet,” “Marty Supreme,” “One Battle After Another,” and “Sinners” neck-in-neck, but "Frankenstein" took the win, achieving a rare craft-category sweep., opens in new tab
